Allen (Al) Powell
Allen (Al) Powell
Al has bowled in the Grand Rapids Association for over 50 years. He has numerous league titles, a career-high average of 226, and a high series of 856. Al is proudest of his time spent on the lanes coaching junior leagues and high school teams at Sparta Lanes. Al is thrilled that the Sparta High School Bowling Team has earned conference and regional titles and a 2nd place finish in the State.
Al has bowled in the Grand Rapids Association for over 50 years. He has numerous league titles, a career-high average of 226, and a high series of 856. The youth bowlers of Sparta, Michigan have seen Irene Nickolai at Sparta Lanes for forty years. Always there, always encouraging, Irene has been a solid supporter of the youth programs, locally and nationally, since the 1960’s. Quiet, steadfast, loyal.

Jerry (AJ) Austin
Jerry (AJ) Austin
A.J. Austin has accumulated many tournament titles in West Michigan including city, the 700 Tournament, the Fairlanes Invitational, the Grand Rapids Press/Stroh’s Tournament, the West Michigan Masters and the Lakeshore Masters. Twice A.J. was the state Team USA champion. Jerry also has over 50 years of participation at the United States Bowling Congress Open Championships.
